Job Description">">At Liverpool City Council, we are seeking an experienced leader to lead a team of planners in the assessment of development applications. The successful candidate will have a proven track record in development assessment and will be able to provide expert guidance to the team.">

The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in handling complex development applications, as well as strong communication and interpersonal skills. They will be able to work effectively with stakeholders, including the community and developers, to achieve the best possible outcomes.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Assess and report on all forms of Development Applications and Modification Applications.
  • Liaise with the public and developers to ensure effective communication and collaboration.
  • Supervise the investigation, evaluation, and reporting of all applications and report regularly to the Manager Development Assessment.
  • Assist and mentor Development Planners and staff in processing and method of assessing Development Applications and Modification Applications.
  • Interpret planning issues and legislation to inform decision-making.
Required Skills & Qualifications">A degree or diploma qualification in town planning, regional or urban planning recognised by the Planning Institute of Australia or related discipline is essential for this role. Additionally, the successful candidate will possess:
  • Extensive experience in development assessment.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work effectively with stakeholders, including the community and developers.
  • Proven ability to interpret planning issues and legislation.
