Job Title: Development Team Leader
Job Summary:The successful candidate will lead a team of planners in the assessment and evaluation of development applications.
Key Responsibilities:- Assess and report on all forms of Development Applications and Modification Applications, ensuring compliance with relevant legislation and policies.
- Liaise effectively with the public, developers, and stakeholders to provide timely and accurate information.
- Respond to written and verbal inquiries on planning matters, demonstrating excellent communication skills.
- Act as an expert witness to the Land and Environment Court as required, providing authoritative advice and testimony.
- Supervise the investigation, evaluation, and reporting of all applications, ensuring accuracy and consistency.
- Report regularly to the Manager Development Assessment, providing updates on project progress and recommendations for improvement.
- A degree or diploma qualification in town planning, regional or urban planning recognised by the Planning Institute of Australia or related discipline.
- Extensive experience in Development Assessment, with a proven track record of success.
- Experience in handling complex applications relating to various types of development, including industrial, commercial, and residential projects.
- Experience in acting as an expert witness in the Land and Environment Court, with a strong understanding of relevant legislation and policies.
- Proven ability to interpret Acts and policies, with a focus on finding creative solutions to complex problems.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with diverse stakeholders.
