Australia's national charity for eating disorders and body image issues is seeking an experienced Events Coordinator to manage a 6-month fixed-term contract, working 4 days per week in Melbourne with hybrid working options.

About the Role

The successful candidate will report directly to the Community Fundraising and Events Manager and be responsible for planning and executing a major gala event in Melbourne in March 2026.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Coordinate all event logistics, including timelines, budgeting, ticketing/RSVPs, invitations, venue management, catering, audiovisual equipment, and run sheets.
  • Work closely with stakeholders to develop event concepts, themes, and timelines.
  • Negotiate contracts with vendors, suppliers, and service providers to ensure high-quality event delivery.
  • Utilize proven experience in event planning to deliver successful events that meet and exceed expectations.

Requirements:

  • At least 3 years of experience in event planning and coordination.
  • Strong portfolio of past events and positive testimonials from clients or stakeholders.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to build and maintain relationships with clients, vendors, and team members.
