Do you have a passion for delivering exceptional and memorable event experiences?

We are seeking an experienced, confident and creative Event Planner to join our team at Metropolis Events, one of Melbourne's most prestigious venues. We've recently been awarded Venue of the Year for Victoria and Tasmania by the RCA.

About the Role: As a Event Planner, you'll work closely with businesses and clients to provide bespoke event solutions. You'll guide clients through the planning and booking process, from initial consultation to securing the perfect event date. Your ability to engage with diverse clients and tailor your approach to their unique needs will be key to your success.

What You'll Bring:

· A proven and highly effective approach that takes the time to understand the client's business needs and challenges, offering tailored solutions that align with their goals.

· Deep understanding of the event industry including suppliers and industry trends, and competitor offerings.

· The ability to communicate complex ideas clearly and persuasively to diverse audiences, from senior executives to operational teams.

· Strong skills in negotiating terms that benefit both the company and the client, ensuring a mutually beneficial agreement while maintaining profitability.

· A proactive and creative approach to identifying solutions that address client challenges or needs, making the planning experience more effective.

· Efficiently managing multiple high-stakes accounts and projects, ensuring deadlines are met, and prioritizing tasks that are essential.

· The ability to quickly adapt to changes in client demands, industry developments, or internal processes while maintaining performance levels.

· Comfort with CRM systems, sales automation tools, and other technologies that streamline the planning process and improve efficiency.

Key Responsibilities:

· Engage with corporate and private clients, understanding their unique event needs and objectives.

· Serve as the main point of contact for clients, guiding them through the event journey with professionalism and creativity

· Tailor solutions to meet the specific requirements of each client, whether they seek a formal, corporate environment or a more relaxed, creative setting.

· Lead site visits, supplier coordination, and detailed event schedules

· Collaborate with our sales and operations teams to ensure seamless handovers and exceptional execution

· Minimum 3+ years' experience in event planning experience ideally in a venue or catering environment

· You are very confident and calm under pressure, and always solutions centric

· A natural relationship builder who can manage multiple stakeholders and priorities with ease

· Excellent attention to detail, excellent communication skills, and a commitment to exceptional service

· Available to work flexible hours, including evenings and weekends if required.

· Ensure every aspect of the event booking process is handled smoothly, maintaining high levels of trust and professionalism.

· Consistently meet deadlines while delivering exceptional experiences valued by corporate clients.
