About the Role

This is an exciting opportunity to join the Magistrates' Court of Victoria as a Trainee Court Registrar, supporting the delivery of justice to Victorian communities.

As a Trainee Court Registrar, you will provide administrative and customer service support to the judiciary and court users. You will complete an 18-month internal training program to develop your skills and experience across a variety of court processes.

Key duties will include bench clerking in a courtroom, either in a physical courtroom or online, dealing with a wide variety of cases. This will involve supporting the magistrate or judicial registrar, making announcements and swearing in witnesses, operating complex technology, and liaising with stakeholders.

When performing registrar duties outside of the courtroom, you will assist with various duties in the registry, including assisting stakeholders with their enquiries and performing administrative tasks.

Key skills and qualities required include a confident and professional demeanor, excellent communication skills, attention to detail, and the ability to work well under pressure.
