Financial Accountant Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Financial Accountant to join our dynamic team. This role will play a crucial part in ensuring financial affairs are conducted efficiently, effectively, and in compliance with local government regulations.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Lead the council's financial and statutory reporting functions
  • Operate accounts payable and accounts receivable functions, including timely collection of council dues
  • Contribute to budget preparation, forecasting and analysis, providing expert advice to senior managers
  • Deliver insightful financial analysis and reporting to support strategic decision-making across the organisation
Requirements:
  • Tertiary qualifications in accounting/commerce or business
  • Full membership of a recognised professional institute (CA, CPA, IPA or equivalent)
  • Advanced financial systems literacy, including Microsoft Excel
  • Exceptional communication, stakeholder engagement, and reporting skills
  • Proven ability to manage competing priorities and meet deadlines
  • Proven ability to lead and mentor a finance team
