Lighting Technical Director Position

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Lighting Technical Director to join our team. As a key member of our VFX department, you will be responsible for owning and lighting CG sequences from concept to final output.

This role demands technical skills, leadership abilities, and project management expertise. You must be able to troubleshoot pipeline issues, lead sequences and artists, and meet deadlines while maintaining high-quality work.

  • Key Responsibilities:
  • Oversee the Lighting production process, ensuring shots are finalized on schedule and troubleshooting noise, render times, and memory usage within modern path-tracing renderers.
  • Work closely with the team to interpret creative direction, establish the mood and look for VFX sequences, and build stable, efficient lighting rigs and compositing templates.
  • Ensure consistency across all shots using modern lighting and compositing tools, producing visually stunning work.
Required Skills and Qualifications
  • Minimum 6+ years of experience in high-end Feature Film VFX production.
  • Experience troubleshooting pipeline issues.
  • Leading sequences and artists on high-end productions.
  • Extensive experience in modern path tracers like Prman, Vray, Clarisse, Arnold or other (ideally PRMAN).
  • Basic compositing experience using Nuke or equivalent.
