Job Description

Mercure Brisbane Spring Hill is seeking a detail-oriented Conference & Events Supervisor to join the team. The ideal candidate will oversee the smooth execution of events and conferences, ensuring that all details are managed from start to finish.

Key Responsibilities
  • Coordinate with internal and external clients, and act as the main contact during events while addressing any issues or special requests promptly to ensure client satisfaction.
  • Supervise and coordinate event staff members involved, ensuring efficient operations and quality service.
  • Assist the Sales & Marketing Manager in managing event budgets for cost-control purposes.
  • Oversee the logistics of events, including room setups, catering arrangements, and any other necessary services.
  • Conduct debrief with clients and staff to evaluate event success and areas of improvement.
Requirements
  • 1-2 years of relevant experience in a Conference and Events outlet, preferably in Hospitality.
  • Sound understanding of emerging trends in the industry.
  • A valid QLD Responsible Service of Alcohol (RSA) certificate.
  • Strong knowledge of a variety of beverages including beer, wine, spirits, and cocktails.
  • Full-time availability to work across a flexible 7-day roster.
  • Ability to work under pressure and handle an increase in workload during peak times.
  • Confident and articulate communication, negotiation, and networking skills.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and sales management software.
