About the Role

The Department of Justice is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Legal Practitioner to join our team as a Civil Law Specialist. As a key member of our team, you will provide expert legal advice and support to clients, colleagues, and stakeholders.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide high-quality legal advice and information to clients, colleagues, and stakeholders on civil law matters.
  • Conduct research and analysis to inform legal decisions and recommendations.
  • Develop and implement strategies to improve the delivery of civil law services.
  • Collaborate with colleagues and stakeholders to achieve business objectives and improve outcomes.
  • Provide guidance and support to less experienced staff members.
  • Stay up-to-date with changes in civil law and legislation, and apply this knowledge to inform practice.

Requirements

  • Admitted or eligible for admission as a Barrister and Solicitor of the Supreme Court of Tasmania and the relevant Federal courts.
  • A Current Tasmanian Registration to Work with Vulnerable People (Employment).

Desirable Requirements

  • A Legal Practitioner with more than 2 years' relevant post-admission experience.
  • Current Motor Vehicle Driver's Licence.
