Job Summary:
We are seeking a Compliance Officer to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for exercising powers of an authorised officer under the Biosecurity Act 2014 and supporting other officers in their duties.
About the Role:
- This role is focused on ensuring compliance with biosecurity regulations across various industry stakeholders
- The ideal candidate will have strong communication skills and ability to provide accurate information and guidance on biosecurity compliance
- You will be required to undertake assessments of biosecurity compliance, take necessary safety precautions when visiting onsite premises, and exercise sound judgement in collecting data, samples and documentation from a site
Key Responsibilities:
- To engage with industry stakeholders to provide accurate information and guidance on biosecurity compliance
- To undertake assessments of biosecurity compliance across various industry stakeholders
- To take necessary safety precautions when visiting onsite premises
- To exercise sound judgement in collecting data, samples and documentation from a site
- To keep timely and accurate records of facts and findings of onsite visits
Requirements:
- A current unrestricted 'C' Class Driver's Licence
- Appointment as a Queensland Biosecurity Authorised Inspector or strong knowledge of the legal requirements of an authorised officer under a relevant Act or Regulation would be highly regarded
