Protecting Agriculture: Biosecurity Specialist Role

We are seeking a Biosecurity Specialist to provide support and protection for Australia's agriculture industry.
This role involves performing a range of screening, inspection and assurance activities associated with cargo, conveyances and people entering Australia. You will assess documentation to confirm compliance with Australia's biosecurity standards, manage non-compliant goods, and identify trends in biosecurity risks.
As a Biosecurity Specialist, you will work independently and as part of a team to deliver regulatory functions, including inspections, assessments and community engagement. You will also provide on-the-job coaching and assist other employees on biosecurity matters.
The successful applicant will contribute to the division meeting its regulatory goals by demonstrating key attributes such as integrity, sound moral principles, and a commitment to maintaining biosecurity and personal safety standards.
