Training Development Specialist

ASC is a leading Australian defence industry company that specializes in submarine design, project management, supply chain, construction and engineering expertise.

We are seeking a skilled Training Specialist to join our team. As a key member of our training department, you will be responsible for developing and delivering high-quality training programs for apprentices.

The successful candidate will have excellent leadership and coaching skills, with the ability to motivate and develop a team of training professionals. You will also possess strong technical knowledge and experience in the vocational education and training sector.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Developing and delivering training programs that meet the required skill and competency levels for apprentices;
  • Mentoring and managing a small team of training professionals;
  • Coaching and supporting trainers to develop course materials and schedule planning;
  • Providing input to performance management of apprentices throughout their training contracts;
  • Ensuring all employees are appropriately licensed and hold relevant tickets required to perform work as per their trade discipline;
  • Driving a performance and safety culture through setting standards and goals.

Requirements:

  • Trade qualifications in respective discipline and Certificate IV in Training & Assessment desirable;
  • Minimum 5 years of Trade experience;
  • Demonstrated knowledge and experience in Vocational Education and Training Sector;
  • Proven ability to develop training programs that give all employees required training to meet skill and competency levels needed;
  • Ability to mentor and manage people, WHSE, quality systems and frameworks.
