About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Community Engagement Specialist to join our team at TransGrid. As a key member of our project delivery team, you will play a critical role in ensuring the successful delivery of our major infrastructure projects.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and implement effective communication strategies to engage with landowners, community members, and other stakeholders.
  • Work closely with the Engagement Lead and Delivery Partners to implement community and stakeholder engagement strategies.
  • Coordinate meetings, events, and webinars to facilitate stakeholder engagement and information sharing.
  • Support the setup and running of Stakeholder Representative Groups and Community Consultative Committees.
  • Draft communication content and materials to support engagement efforts.
  • Assist with travel planning and logistics for project-related activities.
  • Monitor and respond to community inquiries and concerns.
  • Update the stakeholder management database with accurate and trackable information.
Requirements
  • Relevant qualifications or experience in communications, project management, or public relations.
  • Experience planning and coordinating events and meetings.
  • Analytical skills and ability to undertake stakeholder or community research.
  • Experience working collaboratively with a small team or contractors.
  • Experience drafting reports, communication materials, and correspondence.
  • Strong oral and written communication skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team to achieve results.
  • Experience assisting with on-ground engagement activities.
  • Records management and data entry skills.
Desirable
  • General knowledge of the electricity supply industry and TransGrid's roles and responsibilities.
  • Experience working in regional communities.
  • Accreditation in IAP2 practices.
