Geriatric Medicine Consultant Opportunity

Our progressive service is seeking a highly experienced Geriatric Medicine Consultant to join our team in a key leadership role.

This is an exciting opportunity for a talented and ambitious medical professional to shape the future of geriatric medicine, working within a state-of-the-art hospital and a supportive multidisciplinary team.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Provide expert care to patients with complex geriatric needs, including those with multiple comorbidities and functional impairment.
  • Deliver medical leadership as Clinical Lead, supporting advanced trainees, registrars, and junior doctors in their development and growth.
  • Partner with the Clinical Director to drive service innovation, including developing new models of care and improving patient outcomes.
  • Play a key role in education, clinical governance, and workforce development, contributing to the delivery of high-quality patient care.

Requirements:
  • Specialist Registration: A qualified medical practitioner registered (or eligible for registration) as a Specialist in Geriatric Medicine with the Medical Board of Australia (AHPRA).
  • Fellowship: Fellowship of the Royal Australasian College of Physicians (FRACP) in Geriatric Medicine, or an equivalent recognised qualification.
  • Experience: Proven 7+ years of clinical experience as a Geriatric Medicine Specialist, with demonstrated capacity to manage clinical, non-clinical, and managerial responsibilities.

This position requires strong leadership and communication skills, as well as the ability to work effectively in a team environment.
