Clinical Trials Contracts Specialist

We are seeking a skilled and experienced Contracts Specialist to join our team in managing the end-to-end process of negotiating and executing complex clinical trial research agreements.

This is a full-time, fixed-term contract until April 2026. The successful candidate will work closely with researchers across the university, leveraging their stakeholder engagement and communication skills to contribute to research excellence.

About the Opportunity

The successful candidate will be responsible for negotiating and executing non-standard contracts relating to clinical trial activities, supervising and supporting a team of Contracts Officers, and assisting with complex issues and escalations.

Your key responsibilities will include:

  • Reporting to the Clinical Trials Contracts Manager
  • Managing the drafting, negotiation, and execution of complex clinical trial contracts using standard university templates
  • Acting as an escalation point for Contracts Officers on complex issues
  • Consulting with the Office of General Counsel regarding legal issues related to non-standard contracts
  • Liaising with researchers to gather relevant information and provide strategic guidance on clinical trial contracting
  • Applying legal advice to mitigate risks and ensure compliance with legislation while supporting research objectives
  • Evaluating and reviewing team processes, leading continuous improvement initiatives
About You

To be successful in this role, you will require:

  • Experience in reviewing and executing legal contracts
  • A background in clinical trials and an interest in science, medical, or health research
  • Understanding of clinical trial regulations and experience negotiating research contracts within complex organizations
  • Strong problem-solving skills and ability to prioritize in a busy environment with strict deadlines
  • Exceptional verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to influence and guide researchers on complex contractual matters
