Contract Negotiator - Clinical Trials

As a Contract Negotiator for clinical trials, you will play a key role in managing the end-to-end process of negotiating and executing complex research agreements.

About the Role

  • Negotiate and execute non-standard contracts related to clinical trial activities with external stakeholders.
  • Supervise and support a team of Contracts Officers, providing guidance on contract management best practices.
  • Act as an escalation point for complex issues and provide strategic guidance on contract negotiation.

Key Responsibilities

  1. Reporting to the Clinical Trials Manager and working closely with the Office of General Counsel to ensure compliance with legislation and mitigate risks.
  2. Managing the drafting, negotiation, and execution of complex clinical trial contracts, ensuring alignment with organizational objectives and research goals.
  3. Collaborating with researchers to gather relevant information and provide strategic guidance on contract negotiation.
  4. Reviewing and executing legal contracts, applying legal advice to ensure compliance with regulations and supporting research objectives.
  5. Evaluating and reviewing team processes, leading continuous improvement initiatives to optimize contract management efficiency.

Requirements

  • Experience in reviewing and executing legal contracts, preferably in a clinical trials or healthcare environment.
  • A background in contract negotiation and an interest in science, medical, or health research.
  • Understanding of clinical trial regulations and experience negotiating research contracts within complex organizations.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and ability to prioritize in a fast-paced environment with multiple deadlines.
  • Exceptional verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to influence and guide stakeholders on complex contractual matters.
