About Cultural Competence in Palliative Care
This position plays a vital role in ensuring that Aboriginal people receive respectful and culturally appropriate end-of-life care.
Key Responsibilities:- Act as a conduit for Aboriginal patients with palliative care needs in hospital and community settings.
- Develop and implement culturally safe environments for Aboriginal patients and their families within a multidisciplinary team.
Candidates will possess excellent communication skills, ability to build relationships, and lead a team to achieve desired outcomes. They must have an understanding of issues affecting Aboriginal people in relation to grief and loss and social wellbeing.
This is an Identified Aboriginal/Torres Strait Islander Position. A current NSW Drivers Licence (P1 and P2 acceptable) is also required.
About the RoleThe successful applicant will work across Sydney Local Health District to ensure respectful and culturally appropriate care for Aboriginal people. They will be passionate about working in a culturally sensitive environment and supporting Aboriginal people through difficult times.
