Job Overview

Our organisation is seeking a skilled Payroll Operations Lead to oversee the management of payroll processes across Australia and New Zealand. The successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring the accuracy and timeliness of pay runs, as well as maintaining compliance with local, national, and international regulations.


Key Responsibilities:
  • Oversight of monthly, fortnightly, and ad-hoc pay runs
  • Ownership of monthly payroll reporting, journal preparation, and payroll balance sheet reconciliations
  • Leadership of the onshore Melbourne-based payroll compliance team and oversight of payroll operations conducted by a global managed service provider in Manila
  • Development of strategic initiatives to continually improve and enhance payroll processes
  • Evaluation of the managed service provider's performance against established SLAs and contractual/compliance obligations
  • Championing the implementation and rollout of future global managed payroll services

Requirements:
  • A minimum of 5 years of experience in payroll management within large, complex organisations operating across multiple geographies.
  • Familiarity with Workday, ADP GlobalView, or Ramco Payce Global Payroll software is highly regarded.
  • Exceptional interpersonal skills with the ability to influence and collaborate with key internal and external stakeholders.
  • Strong attention to detail and adaptability in managing change.
  • Demonstrated leadership experience including coaching and mentorship of both onshore and offshore teams.
