Senior Melanoma Care Coordinator

Job Summary:

The Senior Melanoma Care Coordinator will provide expert nursing care, clinical advice, and navigation support to patients, nurses, and other healthcare professionals with regards to high-risk and advanced melanoma.

This is an advanced practice nursing role that incorporates high-level clinical service, care coordination, navigation support, clinical leadership, research, education, and management to optimise patient outcomes.

The Specialist Melanoma Nurse will work closely with Dermatologists, Plastic and General Surgeons, Medical Oncologists, Radiation Oncologists, Nursing, and Allied health teams to provide care aligned with the Melanoma Optimal Care Pathway (OCP).

Responsibilities:

  • Provide expert nursing care and clinical advice to patients, nurses, and other healthcare professionals.
  • Coordinate care and navigation support for patients with high-risk and advanced melanoma.
  • Work collaboratively with multidisciplinary teams, including dermatologists, plastic surgeons, medical oncologists, radiation oncologists, nursing, and allied health teams.
  • Develop and implement care plans tailored to individual patient needs.
  • Contribute to research, education, and management initiatives to improve patient outcomes.
Key Skills and Qualifications:

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • Current registration as a Registered Nurse in Australia.
  • Postgraduate qualifications in oncology or a related field.
  • Experience in advanced practice nursing, preferably in oncology or palliative care.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team.
