Role Overview

The role of an Advanced Nurse Unit Manager involves facilitating a learning culture to ensure continuous improvement.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead the development and implementation of unit goals and objectives in collaboration with the management team.
  • Maintain professional relationships with VMO partners, utilising effective communication and customer service skills to ensure high-quality patient outcomes.
  • Provide clinical operational direction for the unit by coordinating the delivery of nursing care that is evidence-based.
  • Ensure efficient and effective management by allocating human, financial, and material resources accordingly.
  • Coordinate and drive clinical audits and quality improvement initiatives to enhance patient care and safety.
  • Undertake direct patient care as required, adhering to established protocols and guidelines.
  • Mentor and support staff to promote their growth and development within the organisation.

Required Skills and Qualifications:

  • Current Registration with AHPRA.
  • Working with Childrens check.
  • Desirable: current or previous ANUM or clinical nurse specialist experience.
  • Experience in Scrub Scout/Robotics specifically.
  • Sound clinical knowledge and expertise.
  • Compliance with ACQSHC National standards.
  • Exemplary interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Excellent customer service focus, time management, and prioritisation abilities.
