About the Opportunity

We are seeking expressions of interest from registered medical practitioners who have a passion for teaching and wish to make a valuable contribution to the education of future doctors.

As a Foundations Year Tutor, you will play a key role in delivering high-quality educational programs and engaging with students in Problem-Based Learning (PBL) sessions, Clinical Skills workshops, and other related activities.

You will be responsible for conducting teaching to a high standard, preparing topics and facilitating group discussions, consulting with students on their progress, participating in assessment activities, and providing pastoral care to students.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Deliver teaching that meets the expectations of our faculty.
  • Prepare materials and facilitate group discussions related to course content.
  • Provide guidance and support to students on their learning journey.
  • Participate in marking and providing feedback to students.
  • Attend meetings as required by your supervisor.
  • Comply with policies and procedures in all aspects of your work.

Qualifications and Experience:

  • Hold a relevant qualification such as an MBBS or MD degree.
  • Have a minimum of 5 years of experience in teaching, preferably in bedside teaching, clinical supervision, or delivering tutorials and workshops.
  • Be registered or eligible for registration with AHPRA as a Medical Practitioner.
  • Demonstrate an understanding of and commitment to teaching in line with the Code of Ethical Standards for Catholic Health and Aged Care Services in Australia.
