Job Title: Employment Support Specialist

This role involves assisting participants with achieving their short and long-term employment goals. The position takes a holistic approach to capacity building, ensuring participants have the necessary skills to improve their lives and pursue their employment aspirations.

The ideal candidate will possess strong interpersonal and communication skills, as well as the ability to work independently and as part of a team. A Certificate III or above in Community Services & Individual Support, or relevant experience, is required for this position.

The job entails working closely with participants to develop essential life skills, including sustaining housing, communication, social skills, soft and hard skills. Traineeships are available for individuals interested in a career in community services.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assisting participants in learning essential life skills.
  • Utilizing a goal plan created by Employment Specialists to work on with participants.
  • Assisting participants in making informed decisions to sustain current supports.
  • Encouraging participants to grow as individuals and achieve their desired goals.

Performance Goals:

The performance goals may include maintaining a 90% billable to working hours ratio, inputting system notes within 48 hours, and taking personal development opportunities to further their career.

Benefits:

This casual position offers competitive hourly rates of $28.00 - $38.00 per hour and flexible expected hours ranging from 8 - 38 per week.

Required Skills and Qualifications:

  • A Certificate III or above in Community Services & Individual Support, or relevant experience.
  • Proven ability to build individuals' capacity to learn new skills.
  • WWCC & NDISWC including a police check or willingness to obtain.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Advanced organization skills.
