Lead Network Strategist

Job Summary

As a seasoned Network Planner, you will play a pivotal role in shaping the future of our electricity network by developing innovative solutions to meet growing demand.

Utilizing advanced simulation tools (e.g. PSS/E, PowerFactory, PSCAD), you will conduct in-depth power system studies and distill complex analysis into actionable insights that drive business outcomes.

With a strong commercial acumen, you will identify opportunities to reduce demand through non-network solutions, thereby deferring capital investment and optimizing resource allocation.

Key responsibilities include preparing and communicating regulatory investment proposals, planning reports (DAPR, TCPR), and compliance documentation, as well as providing technical leadership on network augmentation and bushfire safety compliance.

Collaboration with internal teams and external stakeholders (e.g. AEMO, DEECA, AER) is crucial in shaping network strategy and ensuring regulatory alignment.

The Ideal Candidate

A qualified electrical engineer with extensive experience in electricity network planning and asset management, possessing proficiency in power system analysis tools and Python programming skills. Strong understanding of National Electricity Rules, regulatory frameworks, and energy market dynamics is essential.

Stakeholder engagement, including regulators, government bodies, and internal teams, requires excellent communication and interpersonal skills. Experience in developing regulatory investment proposals, planning reports, and business cases is also valuable.
