Join a team of engineers and developers as a Power System Engineering Lead. In this role, you will oversee the maintenance and development of power system engineering focused tools that support business functions, ensuring they are fit for purpose and operational.

About The Role

As a Power System Engineering Lead, you will be responsible for leading a diverse multi-disciplinary team of engineers and developers with experience ranging from graduate to principal and specialist through our foundation and growth phase. You will develop the capabilities and talent pipeline to support upcoming projects and sustainable effective tool maintenance.

  • Develop and implement strategies for team development and talent management to ensure the success of the team.
  • Manage and maintain existing power system applications and automation tools, including planning and delivering training for junior Engineers/Analysts and leading later career engineers such as Principals and Specialists.
  • Actively participate in Operations Technology Program Modelling uplift projects and AEMO Modelling Strategy initiatives.
  • Support the definition of business requirements for Operations projects supporting successful interfaces between Operations and Digital teams.
Required Skills and Qualifications

You will bring a unique blend of engineering and software development skills, ideally encompassing some (but not necessarily all) of the below:

  • Appropriate tertiary and/or postgraduate qualifications in a related discipline.
  • Experience leading a software development team, including planning and delivering training for junior Engineers/Analysts and leading later career engineers such as Principals and Specialists.
  • Significant experience in the management of power system applications and automation tools and familiarity with online and offline power system applications.
  • Strong understanding of data governance, including version control, software development life-cycle and data security.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage small-medium projects, including resourcing, time and cost management.
