Power System Engineering Lead

About The Position

This senior role is accountable for leading a multidisciplinary team of engineers and developers in the creation and maintenance of power system engineering tools.

The ideal candidate will have a unique blend of technical skills, including experience in managing power applications, automation tools, and online/offline systems. Strong knowledge of data governance, version control, and software development lifecycle is essential.

  • Lead a diverse team in developing and maintaining power system engineering tools.
  • Fulfill all aspects of IT Custodian responsibility for tools developed by the team.
  • Support Operations Technology Program Modelling uplift projects and AEMO Modelling Strategy initiatives.
  • Assist in defining business requirements for Operations projects.

The successful candidate will have significant experience in project management, including resourcing, time, and cost management. They will also have a strong understanding of current and emerging computational capabilities and demonstrated ability to manage small-medium projects.

Requirements
  • Relevant tertiary and/or postgraduate qualifications in a related field.
  • Experience leading a software development team, including planning and delivering training for junior Engineers/Analysts.
  • Significant experience in the management of power system applications and automation tools.
  • Strong understanding of data governance, including version control, software development lifecycle, and data security.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage small-medium projects, including resourcing, time, and cost management.
