Job Opportunity: Medical Administrator

We are seeking an experienced and highly skilled Medical Administrator to join our team in a part-time capacity.

This role offers a great work-life balance, with 32 hours of work per week. The working days and hours are as follows:

  • Monday and Tuesday: 10am to 4:30pm
  • Wednesday and Thursday: 10am to 6pm
  • Friday: 10am to 3pm

The successful candidate will be responsible for:

  1. Scheduling patient appointments and managing their calendar efficiently.
  2. Arranging hospital admissions, radiology, and small procedures on behalf of patients.
  3. Processing patient consult accounts accurately and efficiently.
  4. Assisting with patient prescriptions and ensuring all necessary documentation is complete.
  5. Entering data into our systems to ensure patient information is accurate and up-to-date.
  6. Filing and maintaining medical records securely.
  7. Liaising with hospital staff regarding inpatients and communicating effectively.
  8. Using the EFTPOS machine, handling cash, and processing Medicare rebates online.
  9. Answering telephone enquiries and providing excellent customer service.
  10. Utilizing Gentu medical software to manage patient records and administrative tasks.

To be considered for this role, you will require:

  • A professional and polite demeanor when interacting with patients and colleagues.
  • Clear communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Computer literacy and proficiency in Microsoft Office.
  • Previous experience as a medical administrator, preferably in a similar setting.
  • The ability to maintain confidentiality and uphold the security of medical records at all times.
