Electrical Power System Project Specialist

The Protection and Relaying Project Engineer will undertake complex engineering tasks with varying levels of complexity, assigned by senior engineers or project managers.
- Protective relay calculations and set points determination.
- Short circuit modeling software utilization for protective relay coordination studies.
- Relay setting files development using vendor software.
- NERC-PRC standards compliance reports generation for applicable relay coordination.
- Required client protective relay reports production.
- Protective relay construction support provision.
- Work under direct supervision of a Senior Engineer, APM, or PM.
- Independent task completion and senior engineer assistance on larger projects.
Key Responsibilities:
- Engineering tasks execution with varying complexity levels.
- Project management and coordination.
- Team leadership and collaboration.
- Client relationship building and maintenance.
- Business development and growth.
Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in electrical engineering.
- Minimum 4 years of experience in electrical power system analysis, electrical system planning, protective device application, relay settings and/or substation design.
- Familiarity with power system analysis software: CAPE, Aspen, ETAP.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Strong computer skills, Microsoft Office, and electrical design software.
- Ability to multi-task and work on multiple projects.
- Familiarity with Transmission and Distribution industry protection schemes and philosophies.
- Experience with substation voltages of 12kV thru 500kV desired, experience thru 765kV an added benefit.
- Previous experience with an architectural/engineering or engineering consulting firm desired.
