Job Title: Onsite Field Service Trailer Technician

Job Description:

  • Perform mechanical services on customer trailers, focusing on safety, quality, and efficiency.
  • Maintain a safe working environment and ensure all completed tasks meet agreed-upon quality levels.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Perform allocated tasks by the workshop controller and service advisors.
  • Ensure quality checks are completed and associated paperwork is filled out, with parts compiled and returned to the supervisor.
  • Record materials used for each task.
  • Assist others when requested and promote teamwork to maintain a motivated and competent team operating at maximum efficiency.
  • Conduct mechanical and general appearance reconditioning of trailer equipment.
  • Comply with company and industry health and safety standards.
  • Participate in breakdown rosters to handle emergency repair calls.

Requirements:

  • Trade qualification as a heavy vehicle mechanic or trailer mechanic.
  • Proven experience as a trailer technician.
  • Excellent communication and customer service skills.
  • Ability to work well in a team environment.
  • Knowledge of heavy trailer brake and air systems.
  • Expertise in best practice maintenance.
  • Commitment to quality and timelines.
