Mechanical Service Specialist

The Role

As a Mechanical Service Specialist in our Service Team, you'll be crucial in providing mechanical services on customer trailers, with a key focus on safety, quality, and efficiency.

  • Perform tasks allocated by the team leader and service advisors.
  • Ensure all completed tasks are quality checked, ensuring all associated paperwork is completed, parts are compiled and returned to the Supervisor.
  • Always record all materials used on the task.
  • Assist others when requested and encourage teamwork to support a motivated and competent team operating at maximum efficiency.
  • Perform mechanical and general appearance reconditioning of trailer equipment.
  • Maintain compliance with company and/or industry standards within health and safety.
  • Actively participate in our breakdown roster to handle emergency repair calls.
Required Skills & Qualifications
  • Trade qualification as a Heavy Vehicle Mechanic or Trailer Mechanic.
  • Proven experience as a trailer technician.
  • Excellent communication and customer service skills.
  • Ability to work well in a team environment.
  • Knowledge of heavy trailer brake and air systems.
  • Expertise in best practice maintenance.
  • Commitment to quality and timelines.

Additional Information
  • Experience with suspension, alignment, electrical, and light welding/fabricating is highly desirable.
