Role Description

As a Field Service Trailer Technician, you will be responsible for providing mechanical services on customer trailers. Your primary focus will be on safety, quality, and efficiency.

Key Responsibilities
  1. Perform tasks allocated by the workshop controller and service advisors.
  2. Ensure all completed tasks are quality checked, with associated paperwork completed, parts compiled, and returned to the supervisor.
  3. Record all materials used on the task.
  4. Assist others when requested and encourage teamwork for maximum efficiency.
  5. Perform mechanical and general appearance reconditioning of trailer equipment.
  6. Maintain compliance with health and safety standards.
  7. Participate in the breakdown roster to handle emergency repair calls.
Requirements
  • Trade qualification as a heavy vehicle mechanic or trailer mechanic.
  • Proven experience as a trailer technician.
  • Excellent communication and customer service skills.
  • Ability to work well in a team environment.
  • Knowledge of heavy trailer brake and air systems.
  • Expertise in best practice maintenance.
  • Commitment to quality and timelines.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience with suspension, alignment, electrical, and light welding/fabricating.
