The Mercure Townsville is a premier corporate and leisure conference, weddings, and events venue in the North Queensland region. As part of our hotel, we have Celsius Restaurant, which offers breakfast, lunch, and dinner to both guests and locals. Our restaurant team consists of 30 dedicated employees who work together to deliver innovative, high-quality dining experiences to our customers.

Job Opportunity

We are seeking an energetic and hands-on leader with a guest-focused approach to exceed guest expectations. As the Restaurant Manager, you will oversee the daily operations of Celsius Restaurant and work closely with the front-of-house staff to inspire and develop our team while maintaining our high standards of food and service.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Lead and manage the operational floor of the restaurant according to business demand
  • Set, implement, and review service standards to ensure consistent quality
  • Conduct training, performance evaluations, and counseling of staff
  • Recruit and select team members who align with our standards and values
  • Efficiently manage rosters and costs to optimise operations
  • Review guest feedback, identify areas for improvement, and implement changes
  • Ensure WH&S and sustainability commitments are upheld within the department
  • Collaborate with the kitchen staff to ensure seamless service delivery
About You

To be successful in this role, you will need proven experience in leading and managing a successful team in a high-volume restaurant environment. You should possess excellent communication and interpersonal skills, as well as the ability to prioritize tasks, multitask, and work effectively in a team environment. An outgoing personality with a positive attitude, initiative, and creativity is essential. You must also have a strong work ethic, exceptional customer service skills, immaculate personal presentation, and attention to detail.
