About the PositionWe're seeking an experienced and visionary Director of Manufacturing to lead our electrode manufacturing operations. This role offers a unique opportunity to contribute to the development and scaling of our manufacturing capabilities using cutting-edge powder metallurgy technology.
As a key member of our team, you'll be responsible for setting up and leading the operational and strategic aspects of our manufacturing facility. This position is based in our R&D and manufacturing facility in Melbourne, Australia.
Key Responsibilities- Lead and oversee the manufacturing process for electrodes, ensuring adherence to quality standards and compliance with regulatory requirements.
- Set up and scale the manufacturing operations, including designing and optimizing manufacturing lines for semi-automatic production.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to align manufacturing activities with business objectives.
- Address operational challenges related to distributed teams, implementing strategies to optimize efficiency and communication.
- Develop and implement strategies for materials procurement, handling of hazardous materials, and compliance with hydrogen-related regulations.
- Provide strategic leadership and guidance on manufacturing operations, identifying opportunities for process improvement and innovation.
- Bachelor's degree in Materials Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or related field; advanced degree preferred.
- Extensive experience in manufacturing operations, with a background in powdered technology and advanced materials.
- Proven track record of setting up manufacturing lines from scratch and scaling manufacturing operations.
- Strong understanding of powdered technology, material science, and mechanical design principles.
- Experience with semi-automatic manufacturing processes and hands-on experience on the production floor.
- Excellent leadership and communication skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams.
- Strategic mindset with the ability to develop and implement manufacturing strategies aligned with business objectives.
