About This Opportunity

This fixed term full time role offers a 24 month opportunity to learn and grow in the transport planning domain. You will be based in Sydney, close to public transport, with flexibility offered.

As a Transport Planner, you will support the delivery of various transport projects that align with the NSW government's vision and priorities. You will provide advice on transport planning to drive project forward and meet stakeholder expectations.

Your focus will be on ensuring user needs are central to planning decisions, while strategic planning is done in an integrated manner across all modes and land use planning. You will work across multi-disciplinary teams delivering state-wide strategic planning, place-based planning, integrated network planning, corridor preservation, and other major projects.

You will assist in working on a diverse range of projects including master planning, traffic modelling, pedestrian modelling, corridor studies, movement and place analysis, and transport infrastructure planning. You will contribute to technical reports and other project outputs. You will also support identifying ways to improve sustainable travel and liveability through transport networks, infrastructure, and policy.

To succeed in this role, you must have experience analysing and interpreting regulations, policies, and guidelines for ongoing organisational compliance and response to business inquiries. You must establish and maintain excellent communication and positive relationships with internal and external stakeholders to ensure successful outcomes. A track record of experience in transport planning, transport modelling, or advisory roles is essential. Skills in Transportation Studies, Traffic Engineering, Transportation Planning, and Customer Service are advantageous.
