Objectives of the Role

The Subject Matter Expert (SME) plays a critical role in developing engaging, relevant, and high-quality online learning experiences.

Working closely with Learning Experience Designers, Developers, and partner/client stakeholders, the SME provides expert content aligned with course learning outcomes and objectives.

This role operates within a dynamic, fast-paced, and project-driven environment, requiring strong communication, collaboration, and flexibility to meet tight deadlines while maintaining high standards of quality.

We are currently collaborating with a leading UK university to design two impactful online courses and are seeking Subject Matter Experts (SME) to support the development of course content and activities.

Please note: We are offering a short-term fixed term contract for this fully remote opportunity.

Course Descriptions1. Real Estate Investment

This course offers a comprehensive examination of the real estate investment process and the critical factors involved in property-related decision making.

Students will analyse the position of property within the wider investment landscape, including shares, loan stock, and government bonds, with emphasis on comparative risk and return characteristics.

The course covers property valuation techniques, opportunities in commercial property investment on a global scale, and the role of sustainability in shaping investment approaches.

Participants will also learn about market behaviour, key economic indicators, portfolio assessment tools, and the development of real estate investment strategies aimed at optimising returns.

2. Real Estate Development and Management

This course provides an overview of the complete real estate development cycle, emphasising financial, strategic, and operational considerations that impact development choices.

Students will investigate global benchmarks, perform financial evaluations, and conduct land bid assessments to determine project viability, as well as review various development financing methods and investor funding sources.

The program also addresses the impact of sustainability on corporate real estate assets and introduces strategic tools like PESTEL analysis to examine wider environmental and economic influences.

Upon completion, students will be equipped to critically assess development prospects and effectively oversee real estate projects within changing international markets.

Required Skills and Qualifications

• Master's or PhD in a relevant discipline.
• Experience in online teaching at tertiary level is highly desirable.
• Proven experience in curriculum design and digital course development is strongly preferred.
• Contemporary industry or professional practice experience in the relevant field.
• Familiarity with current e-learning trends and best practices for student engagement.
• Ability to write content tailored to the needs of diverse learner audiences.
• Demonstrated commitment to high-quality teaching and facilitation.
• Confidence in leading workshops and contributing to collaborative design processes.
• Ability to work effectively with cross-functional teams, including designers, developers, and academic stakeholders.
• Strong interest in online learning pedagogy and digital education innovation.
• Self-motivated and able to manage time effectively to meet deadlines.
• Open to feedback and responsive to input from diverse stakeholders.
