About the Role

We are seeking an experienced Aboriginal Health Practitioner to join our team at St Vincent's Health Australia. As an Aboriginal Health Practitioner, you will play a vital role in providing culturally safe and respectful care to Aboriginal patients and their families.

The successful candidate will have a strong understanding of Aboriginal health issues and be able to effectively liaise and communicate with local Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people and communities.

You will be responsible for providing high-quality patient-centered care, working collaboratively with other health professionals and external agencies to facilitate integrated care for Aboriginal people.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide culturally safe and respectful care to Aboriginal patients and their families
  • Liaise and communicate effectively with local Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people and communities
  • Work collaboratively with other health professionals and external agencies to facilitate integrated care for Aboriginal people
  • Contribute to the promotion of the Reconciliation Action Plan (RAP) for SVHS
Requirements
  • Must be of Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander descent
  • Hold or must work towards a Certificate IV in Aboriginal Primary Health Care (Practice)
  • Eligibility to be registered with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA)
  • Proven ability and experience in engaging with Aboriginal people and communities in a health care setting
