Job Summary

We are seeking an experienced and collaborative Senior Coordinator WHS & Injury Management to join our team at Eden Ritchie Recruitment. As a key member of our organization, you will play a vital role in supporting and coordinating workplace health and safety, injury management, and rehabilitation systems, policies, practices, and guidelines that enable the effective management and integration of safety and wellbeing across the organization.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and Implement WHS Management Systems

Develop, implement, monitor, and evaluate all elements of the WHS Management System, ensuring that the framework of policies, procedures, guidelines, and work methods are aligned with and comply with all relevant legislation, regulations, Codes of Practice, and standards.

Provide Expert Advice and Analysis

Provide expert advice on all matters of health, safety, and wellbeing, and conduct analysis of data to identify trends and emerging issues to facilitate proactive and effective strategies and initiatives in a timely manner.

Develop Documentation and Reports

Develop documentation, including executive briefs, policies, procedures, and reports, and review proposals on safety and wellbeing issues and initiatives.

Liaise with Health Practitioners and Manage Return to Work

Liaise with health practitioners, develop and manage suitable duties programs to optimise employees' return to work.

Develop and Deliver Work Health and Safety Educational Strategies

Collaborate with team members to develop, design, implement, and deliver Work Health and Safety educational strategies for a diverse range of customers, including executive management.

Identify Emerging Safety and Wellbeing Issues

Identify emerging safety and wellbeing issues and develop management strategies to address the risks.

Participate in Multidisciplinary Teams

Participate in multidisciplinary teams, including consultative networks and internal and external stakeholders.

Undertake Projects and Develop Solutions

Undertake projects individually, or as part of a team, in relation to implementing and evaluating policies and procedures and developing and recommending appropriate Work Health and Safety solutions to the wider business.

Maintain Knowledge and Share Best Practices

Maintain knowledge of contemporary Work Health and Safety practices across Qld Public Sector and other organizations and share this information with clients and colleagues, advising on potential risks and opportunities for improvement.

Coordinate Workcover Queensland and Workers Compensation Claims

Coordinate the management of Workcover Queensland, Workers Compensation claims, and QSuper Income Protection Benefit claims.

Contribute to a Positive and Safe Work Environment

Contribute to an equitable, healthy, and safe work environment.

Develop and Implement Employee Well-being Programs

Develop and implement Employee Well-being Programs.

Model Culturally Capable and Inclusive Conduct

Contributing to a positive and safe work environment by modelling conduct that is culturally capable, inclusive, respectful, and ethical.

Desirable Requirements
  • Relevant Tertiary Qualifications

Relevant tertiary qualifications in Work Health & Safety or Lead Auditor Qualified (WHS Management Systems) will be highly regarded or equivalent experience.

VET and Industry-Based Qualifications

VET and/or industry-based Work Health & Safety qualifications, including Rehabilitation and Return to Work Coordination.

Demonstrated Knowledge and Experience

Demonstrated knowledge and experience of the Queensland legislative and regulatory WHS frameworks of Safety, Health, and Wellbeing, and Injury Management.
