We are seeking an experienced Vessel Engineer to join our team in a senior role.

About the Position

This is a key position that combines vessel engineering responsibilities with elevated duties, including training and development of junior engineers.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Develop and implement vessel visit and inspection programs to ensure compliance and safety standards.
  • Oversee training requirements for junior engineers and provide coaching as needed to enhance their skills.
  • Evaluate performance of engineers and identify areas for improvement.
  • Contribute to the development of vessel engineering SOPs, documents, and touch drills.
  • Align vocational training with career progression pathways for engineers, MED2, and MED3.
  • Audit and oversee training of vessel HELM records and onboard users.
  • Facilitate on-the-job training for MEDs to promote personal and professional growth.
About You

To be successful in this role, you will possess a strong technical background with extensive knowledge of marine engines and systems. Your experience with installations and conducting risk assessments will enable you to implement practical safety measures effectively. A commitment to excellent guest service, ensuring that guest expectations are consistently met. Additionally, your strong organisational skills and keen attention to detail will allow you to manage your time effectively while prioritising tasks to meet deadlines.

  • High level of expertise in marine engines and system knowledge, including installations.
  • Proven experience in conducting risk assessments and implementing safety measures.
  • Exceptional customer service abilities with a focus on meeting guest expectations.
  • Strong organisational and time management abilities, with the capacity to prioritise effectively.
  • Intermediate computer literacy, including proficiency with maintenance management software and data entry.
