
Senior Vessel Operations Specialist

As a Senior Vessel Engineer, you will play a critical role in ensuring the safe mechanical operations of our vessels. This hybrid position combines the responsibilities of a Vessel Engineer with the elevated duties of a Senior Vessel Engineer.
- Manage vessel visit and inspection programs to ensure compliance and safety.
- Oversight of machinery space condition and competency of Vessel Engineers.
- Focus on professional development of Vessel Engineers.
Key Responsibilities:
- Ensure the performance of Vessel Engineers and provide coaching as needed.
- Assist in drafting and implementing vessel engineering SOPs, documents, and touch drills.
- Conduct audits and oversee training of vessel HELM records and onboard users.
- Facilitate on-the-job training for MEDs to promote personal and professional growth.
- Collaborate with the Fleet Engineering Manager to maintain highest standards of mechanical operations.
To be successful in this role, you will possess:
- A strong technical background with extensive knowledge of marine engines and systems.
- Proven experience in conducting risk assessments and implementing safety measures.
- Exceptional customer service abilities with a focus on meeting guest expectations.
- Strong organisational and time management abilities, with capacity to prioritise effectively.
- Intermediate computer literacy, including proficiency with maintenance management software and data entry.
- MAR40220 Certificate IV in Maritime Operations (Marine Engine Driver Grade 1 NC)
- HLTAID011 Provide First Aid & Provide Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation
- HLTAID015 Provide Advanced Resuscitation and Oxygen Therapy
- Responsible Service of Alcohol (QLD)
- Working with Children's Check (Blue Card)
- Experience within the Marine Tourism industry and high-speed vessels highly preferred
