Clinical Coding Manager Job

 

We are seeking an experienced Clinical Coding Specialist to join our Health Information team. As a key member of the Health Information Services, you will be responsible for conducting regular coding audits, providing education to the team, monitoring coder performance, educating clinicians on clinical documentation and funding initiatives, and driving continuous improvement projects.

Your Key Responsibilities

  • Conduct comprehensive coding audits to identify areas of improvement and implement strategies to enhance coding accuracy
  • Lead and provide ongoing education to support team growth and professional development
  • Educate clinicians on clinical documentation improvement, DRG and activity-based funding
  • Timely and accurate completion of clinical coding using ICD-10-AM, ACHI, and the provision of Diagnosis Related Groups (DRGs); adhere to Australian Coding Standards when interpreting documentation for coding purposes

About You

  • Bachelor of Health Information Management or equivalent tertiary qualification, or Clinical Coding qualification, or completion of Clinical Coding auditing course and eligibility for full membership with relevant industry association
  • Demonstrated auditing experience in a tertiary hospital with sound knowledge of audit processes and data integrity
  • Minimum 3-5 years coding experience in abstracting and coding across a wide case mix in a public health facility
  • Sound understanding of Australian and NSW Coding Standards
  • Knowledge of developing, designing, and implementing training programs for coders and clinical documentation improvement recommendations
