
Emotional Support Specialist

As a mortuary assistant, you will play a vital role in supporting families during their most difficult moments. InvoCare, a leading provider of funeral services across Australia, New Zealand, and Singapore, is seeking an individual with compassion and attention to detail to join our team.
Key Responsibilities:
- Prepare deceased individuals for funerals by manoeuvring, lifting, washing, dressing, suturing, and setting facial features in accordance with established standards and procedures.
- Encoffin and present the deceased in a dignified manner, adhering to family requests and company standards.
- Maintain the highest level of respect, care, and dignity when handling deceased individuals.
- Accurately complete registration and checking procedures in the mortuary.
- Ensure the cleanliness and sterility of mortuary facilities and equipment.
- Perform coffin/casket trimming and engraving tasks.
- Effectively manage time and prioritize daily workflow.
- Monitor stock levels and order supplies as needed.
- Participate in operational tasks such as attending funerals, transfers, viewings, driving vehicles, and maintaining work areas.
About You:
- Comfortable working in a funeral, cemetery, and crematoria environment.
- Sensitivity and comfort when interacting with grieving people and respecting their values and beliefs.
- Understanding of the funeral service industry or ability to quickly acquire knowledge.
- Previous experience in a mortuary or similar environment is desirable.
- Ability to communicate effectively with diverse individuals and provide excellent customer service.
- Strong attention to detail and ability to follow direction.
- Capacity to work independently and collaboratively as part of a team while prioritizing safety and adhering to WHS/OHS guidelines.
- An unrestricted driver's license is essential.
- A current First Aid certificate is highly desirable.
