Job Title: Prosecutions & Education Lead

This is a challenging and rewarding role that requires a high level of legal knowledge and expertise.

The Prosecutions and Education Lead will be responsible for providing legal support to various stakeholders within the Council, ensuring that high standards of work output and legal and regulatory standards are consistently met.

The successful candidate will have a tertiary qualification in law, Certificate IV in Municipal Law Enforcement, Diploma in Justice or equivalent and/or experience in the relevant field of law enforcement.

Responsibilities:

  • Manage and deliver the Council's prosecutions functions to ensure efficient service delivery and compliance with statutory obligations.
  • Provide training and coaching to enforcement-based officers, ensuring high standards of investigations.
  • Develop strong and positive relationships with both internal and external customers.

Key Skills and Qualifications:

  • A sound knowledge of the function and role of Local Government, specifically the regulatory and compliance environment, including relevant Acts and legislation.
  • Demonstrated experience in performing prosecutorial functions and duties in a demanding environment.
  • Facilitation and coaching experience.
  • A tertiary qualification in law, Certificate IV in Municipal Law Enforcement, Diploma in Justice or equivalent and/or experience in the relevant field of law enforcement.
