Compassionate Support for Children with Complex Medical Needs

This is a Casual position within the Family Healthcare Team where you will be responsible for providing care to children with complex medical needs in their home environment or other appropriate settings.

The provision of this support allows parents of children who require frequent medical interventions or have the potential for deterioration to take time out and attend to other responsibilities.

You will work independently, delivering care often in the absence of parents, in line with the child's specific care plan.

We offer an in-house training program to enable the delivery of safe healthcare interventions.

  • Completion of our Healthcare Support Worker training program
  • Knowledge and expertise on providing medical care interventions for children with complex healthcare needs within the scope of the support worker training
  • A crucial role in improving the quality of life and promoting independence for the children and families you support.

Your Skills and Experience

We are seeking enthusiastic and dedicated workers to provide care to children with complex medical needs in their home and/or the community who possess:

  • Good communication skills and a professional demeanor
  • An ability to travel independently to and from workplace
  • Efficient computer skills to connect with team members and document care provided
About Our Program

Our Family Healthcare Support Team provides trained workers to care for children with medical complexity at home. This provision enables parents of children who require frequent medical interventions to rest and attend to other responsibilities.

Support shifts are available for eligible children known to our Complex Care Hub or through NDIS funding. Workers are based throughout the state of Victoria and provide care to children in their local area.
