Rural Nursing Educator Position

This role offers the opportunity to contribute to nursing education across multiple facilities in a rural district. The successful candidate will provide clinical teaching and support to nursing staff, with a focus on adult learning principles and facilitation skills.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Deliver high-quality clinical education programs to support ongoing professional development of nursing staff
  • Partner with the Nursing and Midwifery Education team to deliver strategic education initiatives
  • Develop and implement clinical education programs tailored to the needs of nursing staff
  • Travel between sites to provide clinical teaching and support, with provided accommodation when away from base site
Required Skills and Qualifications:
  • Current Authority to practice as a Registered Nurse with AHPRA
  • Current Certificate as a Workplace Trainer and Assessor (Certificate IV) or willingness to work towards certification within 12 months of commencement
  • Currently FLECC credentialed or willingness to attain within 24 months of commencement
  • Demonstrated three years of experience providing clinical teaching and education to clinicians using adult learning principles and facilitation skills
  • Credentialed in Triage and as an Advanced Life Support Instructor, or willingness to obtain within 12 months
  • Evidence of participation in own professional development and commitment to maintaining competence as a Registered Nurse
  • Effective interpersonal skills, excellent written and verbal communication skills, advanced computer skills and use of software to develop and deliver education
  • Eligibility to drive in NSW and preparedness to drive and travel long distances across rural and remote areas, including away from home for extended periods

About the Role:

This position is based in Broken Hill and requires the successful candidate to work across multiple facilities within the district, with travel to locations such as Balranald, Buronga, Ivanhoe, Menindee, Tibooburra, Wentworth, White Cliffs, and Wilcannia.
