Electoral Event Leadership Opportunity

The Australian Electoral Commission maintains an impartial and independent electoral system for eligible voters through active electoral roll management, efficient delivery of polling services, and targeted education and public awareness programs.

Team Administration

As an Assistant Director, you will lead a high-performing team that administers, prepares for, and delivers electoral events in NSW/ACT. This team is known for its professional and dynamic approach to achieving high-quality, internationally recognised standards for electoral event delivery.

Reporting to the State Directors, you will contribute to the broader NSW/ACT leadership team, modelling exceptional behaviours and contributing to our culture, business planning, and deliverables.

Key Responsibilities

  • Oversee day-to-day work of a portfolio of AEC divisional offices across the NSW and ACT divisional network
  • Travel across the state to support regionally based teams
  • Lead and enable staff to administer, prepare for, and deliver electoral events

Skill Requirements

  • Leadership and people management experience
  • Ability to empower and motivate employees by providing clear direction, delegation, and coaching
  • Demonstrated ability to show good judgement, critical analysis, and data-driven decision making
  • Strong commitment to collaboration as a tool to facilitate and drive work
