Job Title: Meat Product Sales Assistant

We are seeking reliable and hardworking individuals to fill a key role in our butchery department. This customer-facing position involves preparing, presenting and selling meat products while maintaining high standards of cleanliness and food safety.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide exceptional customer service by greeting and assisting customers in a friendly and professional manner
  • Prepare and present meat products for sale, ensuring accurate weighing, wrapping and labeling
  • Display meat and smallgoods attractively in cabinets and displays
  • Maintain a clean and hygienic counter area, restocking as necessary
  • Follow proper food handling, hygiene and safety standards at all times
  • Assist with basic meat preparation tasks (e.g., slicing, portioning)
  • Operate scales, slicers, wrapping machines and cash registers efficiently and safely
  • Communicate effectively with butchers and team members to fulfill customer orders
  • Handle customer inquiries and special requests promptly and professionally

Requirements:

  • Previous experience in a butcher shop, deli or food retail environment is advantageous; on-the-job training will be provided
