Job Summary:

We are seeking a skilled Butcher to join our team. As a key member of our meat production department, you will be responsible for ensuring prompt and courteous service to customers.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Inspect and reassemble equipment sanitized the previous night
  • Rework display cases to assess daily production needs and rotate products
  • Bring cases of meat from the cooler and empty contents onto the meat cutting or other preparation area
  • Cut and trim meat to our specifications using band saws and knives
  • Operate tenderizing machines and follow safety and security procedures
  • Transfer cut and ground meat to trays and load them onto large plastic trays for wrappers
  • Assist with wrapping and stocking the meat case according to the Meat Manager's plan for product presentation and merchandising
  • Clean and sanitize areas throughout the day, including the cool room, to comply with health regulations and maintain proper temperatures
  • Perform routine maintenance for machinery and equipment
  • Assist with monthly stocktakes (inventory)

Requirements:

Education/Training:

A completed apprenticeship or trade school is preferred.

Experience:

Must be a fully qualified Butcher.

Working Conditions:

As a Butcher, you will work in a fast-paced environment with varying temperatures and be required to stand for long periods. You must be able to lift heavy objects and work at heights.
