Food Service Officer (Relief) Job Description

The Food Services Team is a dedicated group responsible for providing patients with nutritious meals and excellent service.

Main Responsibilities:

  • Maintain high standards of food preparation, service, meal distribution, ware-washing, and cleaning in accordance with relevant codes of practice.
  • Participate in the development of safety systems and training processes to ensure a safe working environment.
  • Clean and sanitise all kitchen equipment, utensils, floors, and walls as directed by supervisors and guidelines.
  • Deliver morning or evening meal services in a timely manner.
  • Work flexible hours between 7:00am and 7:30pm, up to 8 hours per day.
  • This is a casual position requiring shift coverage at short notice.

Key Requirements:

  • Experience in food preparation, production, cook-chill procedures, and working in large organisations.
  • Knowledge of food handling and hygiene regulations, maintaining hygienic work areas and equipment, and high personal hygiene standards.
  • Good communication skills and the ability to understand instructions and work effectively with patients, visitors, and staff.
