About the role
We are seeking a skilled Payroll Specialist to join our team at Swarovski. As a Payroll Specialist, you will be responsible for:
- Coordinating and managing the end-to-end weekly payroll function for Australia and New Zealand.
- Maintaining data, interfacing with time and attendance systems, processing, and reporting for Australia and New Zealand.
- Administering, calculating, paying, and reconciling all superannuation contributions. Preparing necessary compliance lodgements for STP2, payroll tax, and superannuation.
- Providing effective, clear, and supportive responses to employee payroll queries.
- Assisting in ongoing projects in the payroll area.
- Supporting the month-end process, including annual and long service leave provisions, bonus provisions, and payroll tax.
- Managing Payroll Service Point queries.
- Managing year-end and periodical reporting and reconciliation.
- Providing ad-hoc payroll reporting requested by HR and other internal departments.
- Developing strong relationships with key stakeholders across the business to provide information supporting business decision-making and ad-hoc requests.
- Supporting audits, both internal and external.
- Providing excellent customer service for Leaders and Employees on all payroll matters.
- Logging payroll/system-related queries to system providers such as Dayforce and Micropay and resolving issues with the support of the provider.
- Maintaining accurate data in Payroll, time, and attendance systems.
- Checking and auditing payrolls, ensuring legislative and Award compliance.
- Calculating and paying termination/separation payments.
- Paying and reconciling bonus/commission, STI (Short-Term Incentive), STIP, Profit Share payments.
- Calculating, paying, and reconciling payroll and associated tax requirements.
- Developing and updating payroll and time and attendance reference manuals for managers.
- Running training sessions for managers on Time and Attendance Systems.
- Performing system upgrades (Time and Attendance and Payroll).
- Maintaining staff records.
- Setting up and processing new hires, job changes, terminations, remuneration, conditions of service, and other matters.
- Coordinating and reconciling Workers Compensation premiums.
About you
To be considered for this position, you must have:
- A Certificate or Diploma in Payroll or completed Payroll Courses for AU and NZ.
- Experience with Micropay is a requirement. Dayforce (Time and Attendance System) and Workday are preferred.
- Previous experience in processing Payroll for New Zealand.
- Legislative and Award compliance – ability to interpret relevant awards and legislation for AU and NZ is a requirement.
- Understanding of the General Retail Industry Award is preferred.
