Job Opportunity: Workplace Relations Expert

The successful candidate will be responsible for managing and resolving complex workplace relations matters, leading investigations while maintaining compliance policies, training, and reporting.

This is a full-time permanent opportunity with flexible location options. The successful candidate will provide high-level guidance on complex workplace relations matters, ensuring compliance with legislation, awards, agreements, and internal policies.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead investigations and represent the organisation in external tribunals.
  • Manage high-risk employee relations issues (e.g., misconduct, grievances, disputes) with procedural fairness.
  • Act as a senior escalation point and ensure consistent, timely, and risk-aware resolution of advisory queries.
  • Lead and develop a People & Culture Advisor; design and deliver training; drive improvements in policies, processes, and systems.
  • Monitor legislative changes and workplace trends.
  • Build strong relationships across departments (e.g., payroll, legal, finance); support change management and workforce strategy.
  • Ensure compliance with employment laws, safety standards, and foster an inclusive, high-performing culture.
  • Prepare submissions, represent the organisation, and advocate before external tribunals as required.

Requirements:

  • Tertiary qualification in Business Administration, HR, Law, or related field.
  • Proven experience in workplace relations, prior work in membership, health, or education sectors is highly desirable.
  • Strong understanding of workplace relations, risk management, conflict resolution, and best-practice HR strategies.
  • Intermediate MS Office skills.
  • Health and Safety Representative Training is a plus.
