Job Description

We are seeking a skilled Body Fabricator to join our team at Re-Car Brisbane. The ideal candidate will have trade qualifications in metal fabrication and welding, as well as the ability to read and interpret technical drawings and specifications.

The successful applicant will be responsible for fabricating and installing new components and parts, including bodywork, onto the chassis of commercial vehicles using welding techniques. This includes assessing vehicle damage, ensuring chassis crush is properly maintained, treating company equipment with respect, advising on additional parts required, coordinating with other workers, and notifying of product shortages.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assess vehicle damage and determine restoration work
  • Ensure chassis crush is properly maintained and used appropriately
  • Treat company equipment with the same respect as own tools
  • Advise on additional parts required not originally quoted on estimate
  • Coordinate with other workers to ensure workflow is appropriately placed
  • Notify of any product shortages which would restrict production

Requirements:

  • Trade qualified in metal fabrication and welding
  • Proficiency in welding techniques and metal fabrication
  • Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and specifications
  • Ability to troubleshoot and problem-solve issues that arise
  • Mechanical knowledge to assist in usage and maintenance of tools
  • Aptitude for technical activities
